The original power chart by Coggan features 7 training zones – the red zone being divided in three to accommodate very target-specific and competitive training. For the BODY BIKE® Indoor Cycling app, only 5 zones are depicted. However, the red zone is divided into three:

It is not very often that cyclists will need to get up in the pulsating zones, so to simplify the visuals of the intensity zones, the three zones above are compressed into one. The 5-zone version of Coggan’s power chart is the most common used for indoor cycling.
